INDIBLU DESIGN GROUP CREATES NEW MASCOT FOR SHERMAN COLLEGE--UNVEILED BY MAGICIAN JUSTIN KREDIBLE

Charlotte, NC – The new mascot for Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C. was designed by Indiblu Design Group and revealed Friday, May 23 at its annual Lyceum event.

Sherman College decided to change its mascot from a unicorn to a lion with the name “Sherman Pride” after a campus-wide contest among students and faculty. In the end, “Sherman Pride” won with the reasoning that “pride stands for the likeness to a pride of lions. We are a united family with a common goal. A lion stands for truth, strength and leadership.”

Karen Brower Rhodes, director of public relations at Sherman, is excited about the new mascot, which was requested by students looking to have jerseys made for the college’s growing intramural sports program. “The students were not overly interested in having their team shirts printed with a unicorn on them. After 27 years and little to no use of the unicorn, it was time for a change. We needed something that would boost school spirit and morale. We are thrilled with the new mascot identity – Indiblu did a fantastic job as always.”

As part of the excitement, the new logo was revealed by comedian/magician Justin Kredible at the college’s annual Lyceum event on Friday, May 23. The unicorn disappeared and in its place appeared the Sherman Pride logo to resounding applause.
