Firm gets creative with new appeal about needs of the Catawba River

Charlotte, NC – Indiblu Creative has been engaged by the Catawba Riverkeeper® Foundation to create its new direct mail appeal. The organization advocates for and secures protection of the Catawba River, which is currently the most endangered river in America, according to American Rivers.

Indiblu Creative developed the concept: So many ways we use it. So many ways we abuse it. One way to make it right. The copy is written to engage the average person to learn how the Catawba River impacts them everyday in order to educate as well as encourage membership and donations to the foundation’s cause.

Catawba Riverkeeper® Foundation director of development Rebecca Klein said, “I love the copy. Indiblu was able to make a connection to the every day resident that we have been unable to portray.”

To enhance the personal nature of the appeal, the piece is designed to look as though you are reading it from your favorite water activity. Wet fingerprints are a design element used throughout the piece and snapshots are taped to look like a personal scrapbook. The content emphasizes the variety of ways the river impacts the area, including its uses for business, recreation and as a watershed.

The design is a multi-panel appeal with tear-off reply card printed on Neenah paper’s ENVIRONMENT recycled line with Evergreen® Technology. This is a new process in which the paper is made with 100 percent green energy.
