About Us

We are a small team of creatives that bring decades of professional experience, loads of talent, and a strong work ethic to everything we do.

We started our careers in NYC, North Carolina, Texas, and Chicago at big shot ad agencies and Fortune 500 companies. We learned a ton. Then, we took all that know-how and experience and broke out on our own to start a new kind of independent shop. We were the trailblazers of boutique agencies, and we’re still going strong. For more than 15 years, we’ve been creating unique designs and clever messages that win people over. Even better, we love what we do today just as much as the day we started.

While our team is small, our ideas are anything but. Our clients know our size lets us be flexible and cost-effective. Plus, when needed, we add pro collaborators (designers, developers, photographers, and others) for specific projects or client needs.

Our specialty is working with small to mid-sized businesses who appreciate great communication design, but prefer to save themselves the hassle of dealing with a big agency and even bigger bills. We’re lucky. We work with good people who enjoy what they do and have engaged us in some pretty amazing creative partnerships. Our enthusiasm for our clients drives us to bring out our very best. They mean the world to us. Many have been with us since the beginning.

Kimber Flynn
Owner/Branding Strategist/Designer
Born and raised in the south, Kimber is passionate about people, places, and causes. In 2002, she founded Indiblu Design Group to allow her the freedom to help nonprofits, educational clients, and good people who appreciate great creative. A new approach for the industry at the time, Indiblu made an impact and Kimber was profiled in Southern Living magazine (1.2008) for her work in an article entitled “Design That Makes a Difference.” Thanks to Kimber’s strong commitment to all things good, Indiblu has grown into a little powerhouse of strategy and design for all kinds of successful brands. 
Kimber’s strategic identity and brand experience is extensive and includes clients such as Olive Garden, Unilever, Shell Oil, and Marriott Hotels. Her work has won numerous national and international awards and has been published in American Corporate Identity. Kimber offers a rare combination of art direction for both print and digital with a mastery of unique design that stands the test of time. Her work is clean, engaging, and on target with careful attention to our client’s objectives. She specializes in naming, branding, and developing identity campaigns, but also enjoys smaller creative projects which allow her to make connections with interesting people. Not your typical creative type, Kimber is highly focused on results and seeing her clients achieve their full potential.
Alicia "Ali" Hintelmann
Branding Strategist / Writer
Ali Hintelmann was not born in the south but feels she might have been misplaced at birth. A New York native, she embraces the friendly positive southern vibe and was thrilled to join the Indiblu team in 2007. Ali brings big-picture branding, image, strategy, in-depth research, positioning tactics, and a full-scale promotional background to the table. She loves to create unique and engaging brand personalities that resonate with and build relationships between brands and people. Ali creates copy that is memorable, concise, and conceptually strong. With a history of working on both the client and agency side and in account management, Ali is skilled at ensuring projects stay on strategy, on budget, and on time.

Ali’s client experience includes a variety of award-winning advertising and marketing applications for Burton Snowboards, V12 Data, Throtle, Southwestern Bell, American Express, General Electric, Wesley Jessen (international contact lens manufacturer), M&T Bank, KeyCorp, Adaco Services, Mercy Hospital, and Girl Scouts of America, to name a few. Ali’s vast experience has provided her with a layered skill set that includes research, campaign and product development, conceptual work, and writing.

Jill Johnson
Marketing/Public Relations/Storyteller
Jill Johnson is a marketing and communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in planning and leading communication and marketing strategies. Creative, versatile and results-oriented, her experience ranges across a variety of industries, including higher education, agency and corporate settings. Johnson provides strategic thinking, creative counsel and inspired storytelling to help clients manage their brands, build their markets and achieve business results. Johnson has more than 15 years of experience in higher education, most recently as director of Marketing and Communications at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. She is responsible for planning and implementing a communication strategy focused on enhancing institutional reputation and to helping other business units across campus achieve their objectives to add value to the institution. Previously, Johnson served as director of Marketing and Communications at Concordia University, St. Paul in Minnesota. She led an integrated marketing and communication strategy focused on building brand value and driving institutional revenue in both advancement and admission. She also led the university’s enrollment marketing strategy, including a multi-channel advertising program and the creative concepting and development of all admission and advancement collateral, including several national award-winning pieces. Johnson has executed local, regional and national public relations strategies on client teams that included Target Stores, Jostens, Andersen Windows, Dayton Hudson Department Store Company, Ronald McDonald House Twin Cities, Greater Minneapolis Convention & Visitors Association and many others. She also has experience in newspaper journalism and financial services marketing.
